CIA Stops Potential Bombing


In what seemed like an episode of 24, a real life Jack Bauer stopped a bombing attempt.

The CIA stopped a would-be suicide bomber that was supposed to coincide with the anniversary of bin Laden's death.

The attempted attack was set to occur by al-Qaida's Yemen affiliate on a US-bound airliner. The bomber was taken into custody in Yemen and it is unknown where in the US the plane was heading.

Details are sketchy about what exactly happened but it is reported that the bomb was lined in the man's underwear, much like that of another failed underwear bomber on a Detroit airliner in 2009.

According to the Associated Press, the new bomb was built in the man's underwear with a more refined detonation system.

There is no word on what happened to the attacker.
