Daniel Sedin Heading to Hollywood

After last night's loss to the Los Angeles Kings the Canucks find themselves in unfamiliar territory being down 3-0 in their opening round series. In fact it is unfamiliar to everyone because no President's Trophy winning team has ever gone down three games to nothing in the opening round since the NHL moved to the seven game series 25 years ago.
After the game one loss Coach Vigneault decided to shake up the lines and see if he could get the results he desired. That didn't work. Game three he decided to take the single player who was outperforming everyone on the team and replace him with Cory Schneider. The result, a 1-0 loss and a three-donut hole to try and climbed out of.
What can the Canucks do to shake the team up to try and find a pulse? Import their best player into the line up. Daniel Sedin will join the team later today for a full practice.
”Daniel is continuing to follow the protocol, he’s been cleared for practice with the team, so he’s flying in later on this afternoon,” said coach Alain Vigneault.
Needless to say, it would be a big boost if Daniel were to play. My sneaky suspicion, if he wasn't going to play then he wouldn't fly out. Wednesdays game against the Kings could be the final game for the Canucks in the 2011-2012 season but it could also be a day of redemption for the Sedins. If they can carry the Canucks on their backs and get back into this series, the whole league would have no choice but to respect them.
Case in point, a shirt worn by some punk behind the Canucks bench that read, "Sedin Sisters. Two Girls No Cup." I was outraged when I saw that not because it was a reference to a disgusting viral video from 2-3 years ago, but rather the stupidity of the Kings fan. They had the world's greatest player on their team and they made it to the finals only to lose to the Canadiens. So we might have two "sisters" but at least they've made progress over the last fifteen years.
Regardless, it's time for the Sedins to combine for a few goals and show them what happens when the "wonder twins" activate.
