Five Facts You Didn't Know About Batman

Batman is back in less than a week..

On the brink of one of the greatest trilogies to be completed this weekend, some fun facts have been released about the original movie: Batman Begins.

Here are five cool, interesting and fun facts that you probably did not know about Batman: Begins.

5.) Liam Neeson's character Ras Al Ghul was loosely based on Osama Bin Laden. Co-writer Jonathon Nolan says the character much like Bin Laden used terror as a method to heal the world.

4.) The Batman created by Nolan was based on some aspects of former President Teddy Roosevelt. Much like Roosevelt, Batman was born into riches, worshiped his father, lost two loved ones (Batman lost his parents while Roosevelt lost his mother and wife on the same day), and Roosevelt went into seclusion to reinvent himself.

3.) Before Christian Bale got the gig of his life as Batman there were several other actors rumored for the role. The top four that missed out were: Henry Cavill (who went on to play Superman), Jake Gyllenhall, Joshua Jackson and Keanu Reeves.

2.) Forbes Magazine crunched the numbers before Batman Begins and figured out that you would actually need to be a millionaire to be Batman or have some really great investors. Just the suit and Batmobile alone would run you around $3.5 million.

1.) Batman Begins wasn't the first time that Bale was tippy toeing around the Batman franchise. Back in the 90's he almost landed the second lead as Robin in Batman Forever. He lost out to Chris O'Donnel.

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises releases July 20th.
